More and more frequently we see in our cities a new conception of street furniture, which seeks to respond to the current needs of sustainability, technology and the avant-garde. Here then, every city product evolves and transforms, meeting a demand for innovation and usability.

IIn this new context of the urban environment, we find benches with planters for the first time. These are modern and functional outdoor benches that offer space for plants and flowers within their structure, thus increasing the greenness of the city and furnishing urban spaces.

A real popular trend in the cities in recent years, such as that of  technological benches. Let’s see together applications, advantages and possible uses of the “green” benches with planter.

Planter with integrated bench, LAB23’s proposals H2

At LAB23 we are a company specialized in the production of design products for urban furniture and we offer three types of planter with bench in our extensive catalogue:

  • SOUL
  • QUADDY
  • S-COMBO

Each of these outdoor benches houses a planter in its structure, but it does so in a personalized and unique way. Let’s analyze them in more detail.

SOUL is the latest addition to LAB23: presented at Fuorisalone 2022 in Milan, it is the result of a collaboration between AG&P Greenscape + Cattaneo Design.

SOUL is made of HPRC, a malleable, high-performance composite material that allows the production of elements of any shape. It is also a waterproof material and highly resistant to impacts and atmospheric agents (saltiness, smog, ice, sand,…).

The smooth and material finish and the very high ability to disperse heat / cold make it a very comfortable material even in extreme climatic situations. An anti-graffiti material and, if necessary, repairable thanks to the repair KIT supplied on request.

Last but not least, it is an environmentally friendly material for two reasons: it is produced with at least 30% recycled material and is 100% recyclable.

QUADDY on the other hand, is a Lab23 product and features a planter in the centre of the structure made of steel modules joined together, while all around the seat slats are made of exotic wood.

For the product is used steel subsequently treated with a cycle of electrolytic galvanizing and powder coating, while the wood used is Iroko or Okumè, both treated with natural oils water repellent and UV resistant.

Finally S-COMBO, a bench with planter designed by Stéphane CHAPELET, measuring 1.8 metres in length by 45 cm in width and 45 cm in height. Made of HPRC / UHPC and cataphoresis-treated steel, the bench is the perfect solution for indoor and outdoor urban environments that want to combine the practicality of a public seat with the beauty of the surrounding greenery.

If you would like to receive more information about the applications of our bench planters or would like to receive a customised quote, please contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions and tell you about the proposals in LAB23’s catalogue.
